From time to time I receive messages of you guys asking whether I really were my outfits in everyday life. Time to answer these questions around blogger outfits once and for all.
Unfortunately the answer isn’t a simple yes or simple no. Rather a “yes and no”. Basically just because everyday life is a terribly elastic term.
Is everyday life meant to be the office? Can’t saturday be an everyday? And isn’t my everyday life as a blogger and art director in an ad agency fundamentally different than the one of a nurse, a kindergartener or a bank employee?I get booked for photo shoots (check snapchat to follow me the yesterday’s: fashionfraction is my name there) and often have to do the styling myself, I go to meeting and like to dress up chic for this. I think you got what meant. So yes, in my kind of everyday life I dress like you I show you – but as often as I love to wear a fancy pancy miniskirt over bootcut jeans look, I like to slip in a “boring” skinny jeans, an easy top and a vest or try to make my boho outfits city suitable.
But then in one thing let me be honest. High heels. I LOVE them and indeed wear them a lot (not from my feet: TO often) Yes, also in everyday life. Nonetheless I wear flats much more often than you can assume from my outfits as I mostly switch to high heeled shoes for taking photos. You ladies know, long legs and so. Why I am writing these lines? Well, it’s simple. Authenticity. In my opinion, it’s the most important thing regarding a blog. If it gets lost, I rather go the kiosk round the corner and buy me a Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar to feed myself with fashion content only.
And now, have a wonderful sunday cuties!Immer wieder werde ich gefragt, ob ich meine Outfits tatsächlich so im alltäglichen Leben trage. Zeit, diese Fragen ein für alle Mal zu beantworten und Klarheiten in Sachen Bloggeroutfits zu schaffen.
Die Antwort ist weder ein simples Ja noch ein simples Nein. Vielmehr ein Jein. Denn alltäglich ist ein schrecklich weit dehnbarer Begriff. Ist der Alltag das Büro? Ist ein Samstag kein Alltag? Und ist mein Alltag als Bloggerin und Art Director in einer Werbeagentur nicht sowieso grundsätzlich anders als derjenige einer Krankenschwester, einer Kindergärtnerin oder einer Bankangestellten?
Ich werde für Shootings gebucht (Checkt Snapchat um das von gestern zu mitzuverfolgen: fashionfraction heisst ich da) und muss mich dafür als Blogger meistens selbst stylen, ich gehe an Meetings und ziehe mich dafür gerne schick an. Ihr versteht, was ich meine! Also ja, ich ziehe mich in meiner Art von Alltag oft so an – aber genau so oft wie ich halt gerne einen Minirock über einer Schlaghose trage, schlüpfe ich auch in eine «langweilige» Skinny Jeans, ein easy Top und Veste oder mache meine Boho Looks citytauglich.
In einer Sache lasst mich aber ehrlich sein. Hohe Hacken. Ich LIEBE sie und trage sie oft (Notiz meiner Füsse: ZU oft). Ja, auch im Alltag. Nichtsdestotrotz trage ich auch öfter Flats, als es auf dem Blog den Anschein macht und wechsle dann für Fotos in die hohen Hacken. Ladies, ihr wisst ja. Lange Beine und so. Warum ich diesen Post verfasse? Ganz einfach, Authentizität. Für mich das Allerwichtigste in Sachen Blogging. Für Inspiration und Fashionnews kann ich mir schliesslich auch einfach die Vogue oder Harper’s Bazaar am Kiosk um die Ecke holen. Und nun geniesst euren Sonntag ihr Süssen!
